Having used these shoes through a harsh winter in northern Scotland I have found the 857's very stable on rough and buckled unclassified roads. Excellent supportive, comfort, and durablility. No slippage at the rear. Very spacious toe box.

Criticisms? Not many.. A bit heavy, but I soon got used to it. Not particularly responsive. A bit of motion heel-tongue kick.. The triangular tongue could do with being a bit less broad.

Shoes in very good condition after 1100 miles so far, no peeling or insole movement after normal washing. 0verall an excellent high mileage shoe. At 50 quid well worth the money. Tip.. go for half size larger than your normal everyday footwear. They come in B and D width. I'd happily buy them again.
