While Pearl izumi are a relative newcomer to the world of running shoes the Float does stack up as a credible shoe with a mix of cushioning and some support. The shoe has a bit of spring to the ride and while it is not a lightweight there is a good overall feel. Some may find the fit of the upper slightly generous.
