Overview

The Mizuno Wave Paradox 3 is a lightweight, flexible and responsive support shoe. Take a look at the Asics Kayano 23 for a similar ride.

First Impressions

Sleek and super good looking, it suggests you’ll enjoy the experience. It feels supportive and no doubt about, it also feels nice and flexible. And did we mention the technology? Wow! It’s packed with plenty of great science.

Sole Unit

For everyday supportive action we’re big fans of the traditional 12mm heel to toe drop so the good news is this shoe features just that and that’s just the beginning; this shoe is rammed with the latest technology and features some great updates to previous models. Primarily this shoe is all about shock absorption which comes in the form of U4ic, a full-length foam that takes care of that. There’s a lighter version of the same foam in the forefoot and feel to make for a better response in those key impact areas. Equally, the X10 outsole in fabulously responsive and highly durable Mizuno prides itself on the flexibility of its shoes and the flex groove pattern does just that. They allow for a natural movement during the toe-off phase.

Support comes in the form of the Mizuno Wave, a thermal plastic wave that creates a spring as you move. The Double Fan Wave used in this shoe is in the mid-sole and prevents over-pronation.

Upper

Breathable and light, Mizuno uses Dynamotion Fit technology to make sure your feet can move naturally but are supported at the same time. Sock-like, they encase your feet for a good comfortable feel. Ventilation is good.

Overall

This is a nice, responsive shoe that is capable of coping with everyday life perfectly. It’s not the lightest out there, but neither is it the heaviest. But what it is, is that it is very, very usable from the first moment. Flexible, stable, and ready for action straight from the box.
